Mid Level Backend Developer

We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to build and scale our core backend services, distributed workflows, and high-performance ETL pipelines. In this role, you will design robust RESTful APIs, manage both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS (Lambda, ECS, CloudWatch).

You will work closely with senior engineers, frontend, QA, and ML teams while leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate delivery without compromising on code quality, automated testing, or system security. • Develop and maintain scalable, maintainable Python backend services and RESTful APIs, contributing to application architecture and database design decisions alongside senior engineers.
• Build and support distributed, asynchronous processing workflows, and help deploy and operate services on cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Design, build, and manage ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, classification, and loading, and manage databases across both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) systems, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
• Debug and resolve issues related to performance, concurrency, data integrity, memory usage, and system integrations, escalating architectural or high-complexity issues to senior team members as needed.
• Contribute to API contracts, coding standards, and technical documentation, and help maintain code quality, automated testing, and release workflows.
• Support AWS services (Lambda, ECS, CodePipeline, Secrets Manager) and monitor application health, logs, and performance through CloudWatch.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code, and use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code/ChatGPT) to accelerate coding, debugging, code review, and documentation — while critically reviewing and validating AI-generated output before it is merged.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with front-end, QA, and ML teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• 2–4 years of professional experience in backend development with Python (e.g., Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB), and core application architecture concepts.
• Must have: hands-on experience building and/or maintaining ETL pipelines — data extraction, transformation, enrichment, and loading across systems, with attention to data flow, consistency, and error handling.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, CodePipeline).
• Exposure to asynchronous/distributed processing tools (e.g., Celery, Redis, SQS) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar) for code generation, debugging, testing, and documentation, with the judgment to critically review and validate AI-suggested code before use.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative code review practices.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document technical decisions.
